Serving at the Restorative Denver Council From March 2023
I am thrilled to share that I have been honored with the opportunity to join the Restorative Denver Council (RJC) as a member!
As someone who is deeply passionate about promoting restorative practices in our communities, I couldn't be more excited to be a part of this incredible organization.
What is Restorative Denver? It's a nonprofit dedicated to promoting restorative justice in our criminal justice system, schools, workplaces, and communities.
The RJC's role is to set and champion clear standards for restorative practice, ensure quality and accessibility in the field, and raise public awareness and confidence in these processes.
Here's what I'm looking forward to as a member of the RJC:
Advancing restorative justice: I believe that restorative justice has the power to transform our communities and create a more just and equitable society. As a member of the RJC, I will work alongside other passionate individuals to advance this movement towards healing and reconciliation.
Setting clear standards: One of the key roles of the RJC is to set and champion clear standards for restorative practice. This is essential for ensuring quality and accessibility in the field and building public confidence in these processes.
Raising awareness: Many people may not be familiar with restorative justice and its benefits. As a member of the RJC, I am excited to raise public awareness and share information about this transformative approach to addressing harm and conflict.
Building on capacity: The RJC also supports those in the field to build on their capacity and accessibility. As a council member, I will work with my colleagues to expand resources and support for those working in restorative justice, ultimately helping to advance the field as a whole.
I am honored to be working alongside such passionate and dedicated individuals on the Restorative Denver Council. Together, we will work to build a more just and equitable society through restorative justice.
